We sincerely apologize for the following errors in some printings of the book. Please consider those copies as collector’s items. 🙂
Chapter 11 — Maximum Backhand Distance…
- The lines that cross in Figure 4 imply that the player releases the disc from the center of the tee pad, and that hyzer throws must travel over the right-front corner of the tee pad. While that is possible, that was not our intention. Instead, please think of the diagram figuratively not literally. The lines are only meant to show that the disc travels along a mirror image line behind the thrower before the release in front of the thrower.
Chapter 16 — Know These Rules Like a Pro…
- In the section “Multiple Penalties per Throw,” one of the scenarios is described as a stance violation. That was a poor choice because no warning is given for a stance violation. Please change that scenario to be “throwing from an incorrect lie” instead, which does entail a warning before a stroke penalty is assessed.
- In the section “A Bizarre Rule That Can Award You Two Throws,” we failed to state that the rule would NOT be applicable to the situation Dave was in because the disc was not technically “taken.” However, it is a similar situation that could easily be misinterpreted, and we believe the rule should still be revised.
